The joys of cold-work….

Glassmaking, for me, is all about hot work.
With coronavirus lockdown putting a temporary halt to my glass blowing classes, I have reluctantly switched the furnace off….
…and I have a confession “I do not like cold-work”.

I have been busy with Devon Open Studios all this I have been busy with Devon Open Studios all this week, mainly demonstrating small quick pieces so that my visitors don’t get bored! However, I have made a couple of larger more complicated pieces for people who were interested to see a more involved demonstration. 
This “Journey” bowl is one such piece made on Friday 12th September.
I then went on to make two hearts from the colour leftover on the iron. I love making use of colour that might otherwise be wasted!

…and just to complete the full moon story, this was the moon setting this morning. Because I am a muppet and read the wrong line of the moon phase calendar, I set my alarm for 05.15am to capture an 05.57am moon setting when it actually wasn’t happening until a much more respectable 07.22am!
