Yellow tang bowl

These are made with a technique called grail. I make a “cup” of colour and anneal it. When it is cold I sandblast my design into the cup (on this occasion—fish) the cup is then taken back up in temperature in a kiln over about 24 hours. When hot, it is picked up on the blowing iron. Clear glass is then gathered over the whole thing and the piece is blown out as usual.
